REHEARSALS: Sunday - Thursday beginning in March. Exact schedule TBD based on cast availability.
PERFORMANCES: May 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, June 5, 6, 7 on the Mainstage

ABOUT THE SHOW:
A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget! This sunny and funny tales unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identify of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter, and friendship, creating an unforgettable show.

Director & Co-Choreographer Perry Medlin, Music Director Erica Umback, Vocal Director Amelia Camacho, and Co-Choreographer Sarah Herndon Sydnor are looking for a strong, diverse cast of actors, singers, and dancers AGES 16 AND UP, to fill the roles listed below. (Note: ages listed are just general suggestions; please don't let them deter you from auditioning!)


DONNA, Female, 35-50: Has a free-spirit and a former lead singer in a group called “Donna and the Dynamos.” Now owns and runs a hotel/casino on a Greek island. A zany and vulnerable side. Mezzo-soprano/alto. Strong belt with a great low range and terrific high belt. Must be able to move well. Principal role.

SOPHIE, Female, 18-25: A very special young woman who is determined to find the romance and happiness she feels eluded her mother. Has an adventurous spirit even though she pursues a conventional marriage. Strong singer with a high belt/mix. Must be a strong dancer. Principal role.

TANYA, Female, 35-50: A former singer in the “Dynamos.” Rich, sophisticated, acerbic, funny, and witty. Actress who sings. Must be able to move well. Supporting principal role.

ROSIE, Female, 35-50: Also a former singer in the “Dynamos” who now writes for and runs a feminist press. She’s confident, strong, and funny on the outside but shy underneath. Kooky and fun, good comic actress, a bit of a clown. Actress who sings. Must be able to move well. Supporting principal role.

SAM, Male, 35-50: May be Sophie’s father. Left Donna 20 years ago because he was engaged to another woman. Charming, successful architect. Actor who sings. Should be able to move well. Supporting principal role.

HARRY, Male, 35-50: May be Sophie’s father. British financier, wealthy, buttoned-up, and conservative but trying to reconnect with his freer, youthful self. Must do a very convincing English accent. Also an actor who sings. Should be able to move well. Supporting principal role.

BILL, Male, 35-50: May be Sophie’s father. A travel writer with no possessions or strings. Good-natured, always ready for adventure. Funny, comedic actor. Should be able to move well. Supporting principal role.

SKY, Male, 20-30: Sophie’s fiance. Athletic, attractive – was a successful businessman. Left to help Donna with her taverna and marry Sophie. Featured ensemble role.

LISA, Female, 18-25: Sophie’s friend who arrives to be a bridesmaid. Very energetic and kooky. Must be able to dance. Featured ensemble role.

ALI, Female, 18-25: Sophie’s friend. Impulsive and fun. Should contrast to Lisa and Sophie. Must be able to dance. Featured ensemble role.

PEPPER, Male, 20-30: Sky’s friend. Helps run the hotel. Charming, loves women, always flirting. Must be able to dance. Featured ensemble role.

EDDIE: Male, 20-30: Another friend of Sky and hotel worker. Laid-back, easygoing. Must be able to dance. Featured ensemble role.

ENSEMBLE: A group of dancers and singers ages 16 and up.


IF YOU WANT TO AUDITION...

Please sign up for an audition block (listed below).

You should arrive at the beginning time of your block. Auditions will begin with a group dance audition, so please arrive dressed to move.

Following the group dance, you will have a short break to change clothes (if you wish) and you will then be called in for individual vocal auditions. After your vocal audition, you are free to leave. Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theater song that showcases your voice. Songs in the style of ABBA are encouraged; songs from the show are fine. Pop songs from the 70s & 80s are also appropriate audition choices. Please bring your own sheet music, 3 hole punched, in a binder; an accompanist will be provided. No recordings or a cappella auditions, please.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2 at Four County Players in Barboursville
Block 4: 6:30PM - 8PM
Block 5: 8PM - 9:30PM (Note: we will only schedule this block when other blocks are full)
