Spring has sprung at Edgewood Miller Farm!

Spring is finally here at Edgewood Miller Farm! So many of our plants are already blossoming including our hyacinths, daffodils, strawberries, and magnolia trees. The peach, plum, and cherry trees in our fruit orchard have such beautiful buds bursting open every hour. It is simply magical out here!

The seedlings in our greenhouse are getting bigger! The tomatoes are in the lead for fastest grow time and the peppers aren’t too far behind. We’ve propagated many offspring while transplanting our amaryllis and elephant ear. The daisies, forget-me-nots, and orchid cream nasturtium we’ve grown from seed are also thriving and we can’t wait to plant them outside! The outdoor raised garden beds are being prepped with fresh compost. Everyone is hustling and bustling to get ready for another grow season and we couldn’t be more excited!

In Edgewood Miller Farm Animal news…we’ve got quite the bundle of chicks! We’ve got a Blue Silkie, Blue/Black Splash Favaucana, Blue/Black Splash Orpington, Lavender Orpington, Mottled Cochin, Mille Fleur d’Uccle, Blue Easter Egger, Porcelain d’Uccle Bantam, Speckled Sussex, Blue Splash Marans, Light Brahma, Cuckoo Bluebar Blue Egger, Partridge Olive Egger, Porcelain d’Uccle, Speckled Sussex, Blue Splash Marans, Light Brahma, Cuckoo Bluebar Blue Egger, Partridge Olive Egger, Black Frizzle Cochin, Easter Egger and a Jubilee Orpington! They are growing up so fast too! In just a few weeks they will meet the rest of the flock who is already very curious about the new additions. * We are currently selling organic eggs for $5 a dozen. Please email barbara@edgewoodmillerfarm to schedule a pick up if you’re interested. :)

Our two Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs are spending lots of time together grubbing on kitchen scraps and cuddling in the mud. Hopefully we will have piglets this summer! Our horses, donkeys, and minis are definitely enjoying the warmer weather and fresh green grass. Everyone is relieved that winter is over and spring has finally sprung.

From all of us at Edgewood Miller Farm, thank you for supporting our business and following our journey. Stay tuned and HAPPY SPRING!
